Equestrian Signs 14 for Upcoming Season

WACO, Texas - Equestrian head coach Ellen White announced Wednesday the signing of 14 student-athletes, seven English and seven western riders, to the program's 2008-09 class.
Baylor, finishing just its third season of competition, is coming off it's best season ever with a sixth place finish in English competition in the Waco/Baylor-hosted Varsity Equestrian National Championships, and a ninth place Western finish.
"We are excited about the caliber of girls we have coming in for our fourth year as a team. I feel we are getting the talent and depth to our team to be a top contender," said head coach Ellen White.
Blair Bergeson - Western - Mora, Mo. (Cole Camp R-1 HS) - Multiple American Paint Horse Association (SAPHA) state and national awards along with three world titles and nine reserve world titles.
Brooke Biddle - English - St. Charles, Ill. (Wheaton Academy)
Kaylin Enright - English - Vista, Calif. (Vista HS) - 2006 - GSDHJA Medal Final Reserve Champion; 2005 - GSDHJA Flat Medal Final Champion; 2005 - CPHA Child/Adult Medal Final Champion; 2005 - GSDHJA Open Equitation Flat 14-17 Final Champion; 2005 - Golden Horse Medal Final Champion; 2004 - GSDHJA Open Equitation Over Fences 14-17 Final Champion.
Kara Fergusson - English - Hillsboro, Ore. (Hillsboro HS)
Lisa Goldman - English - Hawthorn Woods, Ill. (Adlai E. Stevenson HS) - Recently won the High Junior/Amateur Owner Hall of Fame Jumper Classic at the Ledges Sporting Horses.
Maegan Gossett - Western - Pikeville, Tenn. (Girls Preparatory School) - Quarter Horse Congress National Youth Association Team Tournament (NYATT) multiple qualifier- American Quarter Horse Youth World Show multiple qualifier.
Amber Mooney - Western - Riverside, Calif. (Martin Luther King HS) - American Quarter Horse Youth Association AQHYA) world show qualifier, 2008 National Reining Breeders Classic (NRBC) finalist, 2007 National Reining Horse Association (NRHA) Derby Limited non pro finalist, 2007 NRHA Derby youth reserve champion.
Faith Morris - English - Houston, Texas (Houston Christian HS) - Rode in the FEI North American Young Rider Championships in 2006 & 2007; Qualified for Region 9 Young Rider Team in 2006 & 2007.
Meghan Murphy - Western - St. Clair, Mich. (St. Claire HS) - 2007 MQHYA Thayne Miner Horsemanship Trophy Award; AQHA circuit championships, the Florida Gold Coasts and East Coach Championships in Horsemanship, Equitation and Showmanship; Quarter Horse Congress Championship and multiple AQHA all-around awards.
Suzanna Nelson - Western - San Marcos, Calif. (San Marcos HS) - American Paint Horse Association (APHA) Youth Versatility Award - APHA youth world championship and multiple top 5 APHA world show awards.
Ellie Powell - Western - Santa Fe, N.M. (Santa Fe HS) - 2007 AWHYA World Show Reining finalist, Santa Fe County Horse Show all-around champion; 2006 Summer Slide Youth rookie champion.
Andrea Schweiker - English - Denton, Texas (Liberty Christian School)
Elizabeth Smith - Western - Evans, Ga. (Greenbrier HS) - AWHA Youth All-Around awards, qualified to compete on Georgia's AQHYA World show team.
Kim Woodsum - English - Arlington Heights, Ill. (Buffalo Grove HS) - Two-time qualifier for the Washington International Horse Show.
