WACO, Texas - Baylor's top-seeded Taylor Ormond and second-seeded Csilla Borsanyi combined to lose just four games on their way to straight-sets victories in the second round of the HEB Baylor Invitational at the Baylor Tennis Center on Friday.

Ormond took down Shannon MacKenzie of North Texas with a dominating 6-0 first set, and a 6-3 set-two win to close out the match. Borsanyi on the other hand lost just one game, beating Texas A&M's Christina Amo 6-0, 6-1.

In other singles action, Carla Lindlar and Karolina Filipiak each got through their first round test, but fell in the second. For Lindlar, the day started with a victory over Texas-Arlington's Daiana Negreanu 6-0, 1-0 (retired, injury), but finished with a loss to A&M's Morgan Frank 6-1, 6-1.

Filipiak had the same luck, defeating Gabriella Kovacs of Armstrong Atlantic State in straight sets 7-6(4), 6-3. Filipiak then fell to Texas A&M's Stephanie Davidson in a three-set tiebreak, 6-4, 1-6, 7-6(5).

In doubles, Baylor's top-seeded duo of Borsanyi and Ormond suffered a second round upset to Sheri Olivier and Nazari Urbina of Texas A&M 8-5. Filipiak teamed up with Lindlar in the doubles draw, but also suffered a 8-6 loss against the second-seeded team of Gabriela Rangel and Connor Vogel from Ole Miss.

Action continues on Saturday with the duo of Borsanyi and Ormond set to take on the winner of an early consolation round match of Rice's Julie Chao and Jessica Jackson against Maria Martinez and Nikola Matovicova of UTA. Filipiak and Lindlar will take on Ashley Akin and Shannon Mackenzie of UNT, also in consolation round play.

In singles play, Ormond will battle TAMU's Lauren Santocroce, and Borsanyi will take on Alida Muller-Wehleu of AASU.
