Complete ITA Riviera Brackets

PACIFIC PALISADES, Calif. - The doubles tandem of Lenka Broosova and Csilla Borsyani moved into the semifinals of the main draw at the ITA Riviera All-American to lead the Lady Bears on Friday.

Broosova and Borsanyi found themselves down 7-4 in the one-set, race-to-eight doubles competition, but battled back to win the next five games and take a 9-7 victory and move on to the tournament's semifinal round.

"Csilla and Lenka did an incredible job of finding a way to win," head coach Joey Scrivano said. "They dug themselves in a huge hole and just fought their way out of it. I'm proud of they way they used their experience as a strength today."

In singles main draw consolation play, Broosova took down Arizona's Natasha Marks in straight sets, 6-2, 6-4, but lost in three sets to Clemson's Josipa Bek. After dropping the first set 7-6(4), Broosova won the second set 6-2 before losing the deciding set 6-4.

"Lenka has been on the short end of two tough matches at this event but I'm confident in the direction her game is headed," Scrivano said. "She's starting to add shots to her game that I had not seen before and it's exciting."

After three consecutive victories in qualifying consolation play, Taylor Ormond lost her only match of the day to Wichita State's Lutfiana Budiharto 6-2, 7-6(2), 6-1.

Broosova and Borsanyi will continue play in the semifinals of the doubles main draw against Natalie Pluskota and Caitlin Whoriskey of Tennessee.
