ITA Indoor Singles Bracket
NEW HAVEN, Conn.- Senior Lenka Broosova won tie-breaks in the first and third sets to win her first round match at the ITA Indoor National Championships in New Haven, Conn., on Wednesday.
Broosova out-dueled Sona Novakova of Armstrong Atlantic State in a tight three-set match that featured two tie-breakers. In the first set, Broosova took the tie-break 7-6(3), but Novakova responded with a 6-2 second-set victory to even the match. Broosova fought back in the third set winning another tie-break 7-6(5).
Broosova, who is unseeded, will take on fifth-seeded Caitlin Whoriskey of Tennessee at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 6. Whoriskey defeated Nadine Fahoum of Old Dominion in straight sets in her first round match.
