The seventh-ranked Baylor women's tennis team, scheduled to face No. 10 Miami at 1 p.m. at the Baylor Tennis Center, has been forced to the Ennis Indoor Courts due to gusting winds in the Central Texas area. WOMEN'S TENNIS PLAYS HOST TO NO. 10 MIAMI
The seventh-ranked Baylor women's tennis team will play host to No. 10 Miami (Fla.) on Saturday afternoon at the Baylor Tennis Center. Baylor is coming off a 4-3 loss to eighth-ranked Duke last weekend at the 2009 ITA National Indoor Championships. After winning its first round match against No. 11 North Carolina, then-fourth-ranked Baylor dropped consecutive 4-3 matches to No. 14 Notre Dame and No. 8 Duke. LAST TIME AGAINST MIAMI
The fifth-seeded Baylor women's tennis team advanced to the NCAA Championship quarterfinals by downing 12th-seeded Miami, 4-1, at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center in Tulsa, Okla. Baylor, ranked No. 5, moved to 31-2 on the season while Miami ended its year at 17-6. The Bears, who extended their win streak to 14 matches, made their second quarterfinal appearance in program history. In 2006, the Bears advanced to the quarterfinals but lost to Florida, 4-0. As they did when they posted a 4-1 road win over Miami on Feb. 17, the Bears won the doubles point. The start of doubles was delayed 30 minutes due to wet courts and, after 25 minutes of action, play was halted when a light sprinkle made the courts slippery. After a 50-minute delay, play was resumed and no further interruptions occurred. Baylor's Zuzana Chmelarova and Karolina Filipiak held a 5-0 lead when play was halted and once action resumed, went on to post an 8-4 triumph. The sixth-ranked tandem of Zuzana Zemenova and Lenka Broosova held a 2-1 edge over Miami's 20th-ranked Romy Farah and Laura Vallverdu when the weather break came, but the Baylor tandem after falling behind 4-2 once play resumed, reeled off six straight wins to post an 8-4 victory and clinch the doubles point for the Bears. Broosova, the first off the court for Baylor in singles, notched her 17th-straight singles victory and remained undefeated at the No. 3 spot at 18-0. The sophomore raised her team-best season singles record to 47-4 and she is now 31-1 in dual match action. The 18th-ranked Broosova breezed past No. 64 Michaela Kissell, 6-1, 6-3. At No. 5, Jelena Stanivuk gave the Bears their third point with a straight-sets win over Caren Seenauth, 6-3, 6-2. Baylor's most dramatic match of the day came from No. 99 Jana Bielikova on court four. After losing the first set 6-0 to Bianca Eichkorn, the junior mounted a tremendous comeback to claim the next two sets by identical 6-2 scores, and clinch the match for the Bears.

Eighth-ranked Duke won four singles matches to upset the fourth-ranked Baylor women's tennis team on Sunday afternoon at the ITA National Indoor Championships. The 4-3 loss is the second-straight for Baylor who dropped a 4-3 decision to No. 14 Notre Dame on Saturday. Baylor loses two straight matches for the first time since the Lady Bears dropped three straight during the 2007 season. For the first time in the tournament, Baylor captured the doubles point. Third-ranked Lenka Broosova and Csilla Borsanyi knocked off No. 20 Melissa Mang and Amanda Granson on court one, 8-3, while Taylor Ormond and Jelena Stanivuk defeated Jessi Robinson and Mallory Cecil on court two by an 8-3 score. On court three, Nina Secerbegovic and Kasia Siwosz fell to Ellah Nze and Reka Zsilinszka, 8-6. Duke tied the score at 1-1 as Mang defeated Karolina Filipiak, 6-1, 6-2, on court five, and took the lead as No. 56 Zsilinszka downed Broosova, 6-4, 6-2, at No. 3 singles. The loss snaps Broosova's 23-match winning streak in dual match play. No. 65 Stanivuk evened the score for Baylor with a 6-2, 1-6, 6-3 win over No. 48 Granson on court four, and the Lady Bears took a 3-2 lead as Secerbegovic defeated Robinson 7-5, 6-4 on court six. Cecil downed No. 19 Ormond, 6-4, 7-6 (4) on court one, and No. 43 Nze defeated No. 32 Borsanyi in three sets, 6-2, 5-7, 6-4, on court two to seal the win for the Blue Devils.
