WOMEN'S TENNIS HOSTS #19 KENTUCKY
The fourth-ranked Baylor women's tennis team hits the midway point of its five-match homestand as the Lady Bears play host to No. 17 Kentucky on Wednesday evening at 5 p.m. at the Baylor Tennis Center. Baylor is coming off a pair of wins last weekend, downing No. 62 Texas Tech, 7-0, on Friday to open Big 12 Conference play before upending ninth-ranked UCLA, 4-3, on Saturday. LAST TIME AGAINST KENTUCKY
Wednesday's match marks the first-ever meeting between Baylor and Kentucky. The Lady Bears hold an 11-38 all-time record against current Southeastern Conference members. In addition, of the seven SEC teams Baylor has faced, the Lady Bears only hold a winning record against Ole Miss (3-2).
The match against Kentucky will mark the 13th-straight match against a nationally ranked opponent, with Baylor holding an 8-4 record in those matches. In addition, Baylor holds a 5-4 record against Top 25 teams and a 3-3 record against Top 10 ranked opponents. The Lady Bears have split their only two contests this season against teams ranked in the Top 5.

Lenka Broosova won a second-set tiebreaker to defeat Andrea Remynse, 6-3, 7-6 (5) on court two as the fifth-ranked Baylor women's tennis team held on to defeat ninth-ranked and defending national champion UCLA on Saturday afternoon at the Baylor Tennis Center. The win for Baylor is its third of the season over a Top 10-ranked team. Earlier this season the Lady Bears defeated then-10th-ranked Miami (Fla.), 4-2, and then-fourth-ranked Georgia Tech, 5-2. UCLA took an early 1-0 lead after winning the closely contested doubles point. Nina Secerbegovic and Kasia Siwosz defeated Nina Pantic and Ashley Joelson, 9-7, on court three before fifth-ranked Yasmin Schnak and Remynse downed No. 24 Broosova and Csilla Borsanyi, 8-6, on court one. In the deciding doubles match, No. 76 Stephanie Wetmore and Carling Seguso won a tiebreaker over No. 55 Taylor Ormond and Jelena Stanivuk, 9-8 (4) on court two. Secerbegovic made quick work of Joelson on court five, winning 6-2, 6-0, to even the match at 1-1. No. 73 Borsanyi defeated No. 112 Pantic, 6-4, 6-1, on court four to put Baylor in the lead. Baylor won its third-straight singles match as No. 34 Stanivuk rolled over No. 81 Maya Johansson, 6-0, 6-1, on court three. No. 19 Schnack defeated No. 32 Ormond in straight sets, 7-5, 6-3, on court one, while Seguso downed Siwosz, 7-5, 7-5, on court six. With the match all square at 3-3, No. 46 Broosova rallied from a 5-1 second-set deficit to win over No. 27 Remynse to clinch the match.
