WOMEN'S TENNIS TAKES ON #3 NOTRE DAME
The fourth-ranked Baylor women's tennis team hits the road as the Lady Bears travel to face third-ranked Notre Dame on Tuesday afternoon in Notre Dame, Ind. Baylor is coming off a 7-0 road victory over No. 58 Missouri in Baylor's first Big 12 road match of the season. The Notre Dame match will mark the second meeting of the season between the two teams. The Fighting Irish claimed a 4-3 win over Baylor at the ITA Team Indoor Championships. The match marks the third for Baylor against a Top 5 opponent (1-1) and the seventh versus a Top 10 opponent (3-3). LAST TIME AGAINST NOTRE DAME
A day after a come-from-behind victory against No. 11 North Carolina, the fourth-ranked Baylor women's tennis team's rally fell short as the Lady Bears dropped a 4-3 decision to No. 14 Notre Dame in the quarterfinals of the ITA National Indoor Championships at the A.C. Nielsen Tennis Stadium. Once again, the doubles point was closely contested, coming down to court two to decide the point. On court one, third-ranked Lenka Broosova and Csilla Borsanyi defeated top-ranked Kristy Frilling and Kelcy Tefft, 8-0. Notre Dame's Shannon Mathews and Colleen Rielley defeated Nina Sercerbegovic and Kasia Siwosz, 8-4. On court two, Cosmina Ciobanu and Kali Krisik downed Taylor Ormond and Jelena Stanivuk, 9-8, to clinch the point for Notre Dame. Mathews defeated Karolina Filipiak, 6-0, 6-1, on court six to give Notre Dame a 2-0 lead. No. 65 Stanivuk rolled over No. 62 Kristen Rafael on court four, 6-2 .6-0, to get Baylor on the board. Broosova tied the match at 2-2 with a win over No. 39 Frilling, 6-3. 6-3, on court two. Broosova extends her dual-match winning streak to 23 straight wins. No. 45 Tefft downed No. 19 Ormond in straight sets, 6-1, 6-4, on court one to put Notre Dame ahead 3-2. No. 32 Borsanyi defeated No. 46 Krisik 6-2, 6-3, on court three to tie the match again. Secerbegovic, who entered the match with a 3-0 record in dual-match action, fell to Ciobanu, 6-4, 6-3, to seal the victory for Notre Dame.

The fourth-ranked Baylor women's tennis team moved to 4-0 in Big 12 Conference play with a 7-0 win over No. 58 Missouri on Sunday afternoon at the Green Tennis Center. Baylor moves to 4-0 on the season in Big 12 play, with all four wins coming by a 7-0 score. The Lady Bears opened play by sweeping the doubles point. No. 73 Taylor Ormond and Jelena Stanivuk defeated Mallory Weber and Jamie Mera, 8-4, on court one, while Nina Secerbegovic and Kasia Siwosz downed Jessica Giuggioli and Kaitlyn Ritchie, 8-5, on court two. Csilla Borsanyi and Karolina Filipiak completed the sweep with an 8-6 win over Sofia Ayala and Danielle Day on court three. Baylor cruised through singles action, winning four matches in straight sets. Secerbegovic downed Ritchie, 6-0, 6-0, on court four, while No. 66 Borsanyi downed Mera, 6-2, 6-0, on court three. No. 39 Stanivuk won 6-1, 6-3, over Weber on court two, while Filipiak rolled over Maureen Modesto, 6-1, 6-3, on court six. On court one, No. 37 Ormond defeated Giuggioli in a third-set super tiebreaker, 5-7, 6-1, 10-6, while Siwosz downed Day, 6-1, 4-6, 10-8, on court five.
