NORMAN, Okla. - The fifth-ranked Baylor women's tennis team remained perfect in Big 12 with a 5-2 win over Oklahoma on Saturday afternoon at the Headington Family Tennis Center.

With the win Baylor moves to 19-4 overall, 9-0 in the conference action. With a win on Sunday at Oklahoma State, the Lady Bears can clinch at least a share of their fifth-straight Big 12 regular season championship.

Baylor opened the match by clinching the doubles point with wins on courts one and two. Eighth-ranked Lenka Broosova and Csilla Borsanyi defeated Tara Eckel and Marie-Pier Huet, 8-3, at No. 1 doubles. No. 64 Taylor Ormond and Jelena Stanivuk defeated Ana-Maria Constantinescu and Kristina Radan, 8-6, to secure the point. Maria Kalashnikova and Peta Maree Lancaster downed Karolina Filipiak and Zuzana Chmelarova, 8-5, on court three.

No. 64 Borsanyi opened singles play with a 6-1, 6-2 win over Radan on court four, moving her winning streak to 11 straight matches. Constantinescu downed No. 46 Ormond, 6-1, 6-2, on court one to put the Sooners on the board. No. 44 Stanivuk defeated Huet, 7-5, 6-0, on court three to win her 12th-straight match, while No. 31 Broosova won her 11th-straight match with a 6-2, 6-1 win over Kalashnikova on court two, securing the Baylor victory.

Chmelarova defeated Eckel, 6-4, 6-2, on court six, while Lancaster edged Filipiak, 6-4, 6-4, on court five to finish the scoring.

"OU pushed us in a lot of positions and that is exactly what we need right now," said head coach Joey Scrivano. "They have an upcoming team that you can't be taken lightly. Zuzi really helped us today by giving us a boost in singles, plus we were able to rest some players too."

Baylor returns to action on Sunday as the Lady Bears face Oklahoma State at 12 noon in Stillwater, Okla.
