COLLEGE STATION, Texas - Baylor junior Lenka Broosova was named to the 2009 NCAA Women's Tennis Championship All-Tournament Team it was announced today. The all-tournament honor is the second-straight for Broosova.
Broosova earned all-tournament honors at the No. 2 singles position after finishing the 2009 NCAA Championships with a perfect 4-0 record at that position.
"We are really proud of Lenka," said head coach Joey Scrivano. "She's the ultimate team player and competes hard every match. It's nice to see her earn this prestigious honor for the second straight year."
Last season, Broosova compiled a 5-0 record in the NCAA Championships at No. 3 singles, while Jelena Stanivuk joined her on the all-tournament team with a 5-0 record at No. 5 singles.
Baylor continues play in the 2009 NCAA Women's Tennis Doubles Championships on Friday afternoon as Broosova and Csilla Borsanyi take on Mississippi's Kristi Boxx and Karen Njissen at 2:30 p.m.
