COLLEGE STATION, Texas - The 13th-ranked doubles team of Lenka Broosova and Csilla Borsanyi lost a semifinal match, 6-4, 6-3, to California's seventh-ranked duo of Mari Andersson and Jana Juricova at the NCAA Women's Tennis Doubles Championships on Sunday afternoon at the George P. Mitchell Tennis Center.

Lightning and rain in the Bryan-College Station area delayed action for a second-straight day. Baylor's match, scheduled to begin at 2:30 p.m., was delayed for an hour.

"Obviously the loss was very disappointing," said Borsanyi. "I was expecting a win today, because we had a really good chance to win. I think the big key today was the first striking and my serve was a little bit off today. I think next time I just have to focus more on my serve and set my partner up a little bit better, and then I think we're going to be in good shape."

After Baylor cruised through its quarterfinal match without losing its serve, the Lady Bears struggled on Sunday, falling into a 4-0 deficit early in the match. Trailing 5-1 in the first set, Baylor rallied with three straight games to trim the lead to 5-4, but could not finish the comeback as California closed the set, 6-4

The Lady Bears jumped out quickly in the second set, building a 3-1 lead, but Baylor could not hold serve as the Golden Bears reeled off five straight games to seal the match.

"I think the main difference was that we got down 5-1," said Broosova. "You can't do that against a team like Cal. They were up 5-1 and we started playing better.They're a good team and obviously they closed it out."

Broosova and Borsanyi end the season with a 27-14 overall doubles record. Borsanyi ends the season with 32 total doubles wins, a total that ranks third all-time for a single season. Both players earned All-America honors after advancing to the NCAA Quarterfinals.
