The 2009 Bear Blitz Coaches Caravan, featuring Baylor head football coach Art Briles, is slated to make stops in San Antonio, Houston, Austin, Dallas and Fort Worth in advance of the Bears' Sept. 5 nationally televised season opener at Wake Forest. The events are co-sponsored by Baylor Athletics and the Baylor Network.
The caravan kicks off on Monday, July 13, with a 7 p.m. dinner at San Antonio's Omni Hotel at the Colonnade (9821 Colonnade Blvd.). Individual tickets are priced at $35 each ($30 for "B" Association and Bear Foundation members). Table sponsorships of $450 and $600 are also available.
On Tuesday, July 14, the caravan moves on to Houston. Coach Briles will be the featured speaker at the Houston Touchdown Club's Baylor Day luncheon which starts at Noon at the JW Marriott (5151 Westheimer). Tickets are priced at $40 each and table sponsorships are available for $400 (regular table), $500 (bronze table sponsorship), $1,000 (silver table sponsorship), $1,500 (gold table sponsorship) and $5,000 (platinum table sponsorship. Fans who wish to attend the Houston Touchdown Club luncheon do not have to be members of the organization. Briles, the Baylor "B" Association and the Baylor Network will host an event featuring the Bears' football staff during the Texas High School Coaches Association's annual convention which is open to any Baylor graduate attending coaches school in Austin. On Monday, July 20, the Bear Blitz caravan heads to Austin for a luncheon that will begin at 12:30 p.m. at the Courtyard by Marriott (300 East 4th Street). Individual tickets cost $35 each ($30 for "B" Association and Bear Foundation members). Table sponsorships of $450 and $600 are also available for purchase.
Tuesday, July 28, will be a jam-packed day for Coach Briles, as he will start his day at Dallas' Westin Hotel for Big 12 Media Day, followed by a 12:30 p.m. Bear Blitz luncheon at the Intercontinental Hotel (15201 Dallas Parkway in Addison, Texas). Like the other caravan stops, individual tickets are priced at $35 each ($30 for "B" Association and Bear Foundation members). Table sponsorships for this luncheon may be purchased for $450 and $600.
The final stop of the 2009 Bear Blitz caravan will be Fort Worth for a 7 p.m. dinner on Tuesday, July 28, at the Colonial Country Club (3735 Country Club Circle). Individual tickets are priced at $35 each ($30 for "B" Association and Bear Foundation members). Table sponsorships for this event may be purchased for $400 and $525.

The Waco Chamber of Commerce's annual Kickoff Luncheon, sponsored by First Community Bank Central Texas, will be held on Thursday, Aug. 25, at 11:30 a.m. in the Ferrell Center. For the second consecutive season, Briles' Bears open their schedule with a nationally televised (ABC/ESPN2) game against Wake Forest, Sept. 5, at Winston-Salem, N.C., that kicks off at 2:30 p.m.(Central).
