WACO - Freshman Hanna Gilmore provided an offensive outburst, registering the first two goals of her career and adding an assist, en route to Baylor's 3-0 win over Lamar Sunday afternoon at Betty Lou Mays Soccer Field. The win keeps the Bears undefeated at 1-0-1 after the opening weekend, while Lamar drops to 0-2-0.

"I thought we played pretty well for good portions of the game," head coach Marci Jobson said. "We got a chance to use a lot of our bench and get them some experience. Hanna was great today, and that's the type of impact we thought she might have."

Baylor struck first for the second-straight game, as Gilmore found sophomore Christine Clark who proceeded to blast a shot, beating the keeper near post in the 21st minute for her first goal of the season.

The Bears, who took 11 first half shots, did not allow a single Lamar shot in the entire first half as BU took a 1-0 halftime lead.

Gilmore doubled the Baylor lead just under four minutes into the second half, when Lotto Smith found the freshman in the center of the box for a well placed header and a 2-0 advantage.

The Spring, Texas, native put the game away in the 64tth minute after freshman Dana Larsen slipped a pass through the Cardinals' defense, finding Gilmore, who buried the ball in the back of the net for the 3-0 lead.

The Bears outshot Lamar 26-2, including a 13-2 margin on goal. Baylor has attempted 50 shots in the first two games after registering just 184 during the 2008 season.

Lotto Smith led the way with five shots, while freshmen Chelsea Geller and Gilmore each added three.

The Bears will be back in action on Friday, Aug. 28 as they host North Dakota State at 7:00 p.m. at Betty Lou Mays Field.
