Baylor head football coach Art Briles will open his 2009 fall camp Thursday, Aug. 6, with an afternoon practice at the new Highers Complex fields.
The new practice fields are part of the program's beautiful new on-campus home off of University Parks Drive, which includes the new Simpson Athletic and Academic Center and the brand-new Allison Indoor Facility.
Briles and staff will welcome 105 student-athletes Thursday for the three-week camp leading up to Baylor's opening game at Wake Forest, to be played Sept. 5 in front of a live national TV audience on ABC/ESPN2.
The Bears will be led in 2009 by preseason All-American linebacker Joe Pawelek, two-time All-Big 12 safety Jordan Lake and 2008 Freshman All-American quarterback Robert Griffin III. In all, the Bears return 20 starters and 46 lettermen from last season, and have significantly raised Bears' fans expectations for this fall.
