MISCELLANEOUS NOTES
• Connecticut leads the all-time series 2-0. This was the first-ever meeting between the programs in Waco.
• Baylor is 5-5 all-time against teams currently playing as Big East Conference members, including a 2-3 mark against such teams at home.
• Baylor is 78-25-5 all-time in home openers, including a 40-20 mark since moving into Floyd Casey Stadium in 1950. The Bears are 5-4 in such games since 2001.
• Baylor is 7-2 all-time on Sept. 19 (Both losses to UConn).
• Baylor is 21-16 all-time on the third weekend of September.
• Fifth-largest home opener crowd in Floyd Casey Stadium's 60-year history.
TEAM NOTES
• Baylor has lost 19 consecutive games when trailing at halftime. The last time Baylor overcame a halftime deficit was Oct. 21, 2006, against Kansas when the Bears overcame a 35-17 halftime deficit for a 36-35 victory.
• Baylor's blocked field goal at the end of the first half was its first since last season's Nebraska game.
• Connecticut running back Andre Dixon became the first opposing player to eclipse 100 yards rushing against Baylor since Connecticut's Donald Brown rushed for 150 yards against the Bears last season.
• Dixon became the first opposing player to score three-plus rushing touchdowns against Baylor since Oklahoma's DeMarco Murray had three against the Bears in 2007.
• Connecticut became the first team with multiple 100-yard rushers against Baylor since Texas A&M's Javorski Lane and Stephen McGee accomplished the feat in 2007.
• Baylor eclipsed 100 yards rushing for the sixth consecutive game.
INDIVIDUAL NOTES
• S Byron Landor made his first career start.
• LB Joe Pawelek started his 35th consecutive game, the longest streak by a Baylor player since Maurice Lane's school-record, 45-game streak that ran from 2002 to 2005.
• RG James Barnard, FS Jordan Lake and C J.D. Walton all started their 26th consecutive games.
• RB Jay Finley's 72-yard touchdown run in the first quarter was the longest run of his career.
• Finley's run was the longest by a Baylor player since Chedrick Hicks' 78-yard run (did not score) against Samford in 2002. It was Baylor's longest touchdown run since Jerrod Douglas' 80-yard run against Nebraska in 1997.
• Finley notched the fourth 100-yard rushing game of his career. He has rushed for at least 90 yards in four consecutive games and at least 100 yards in three of those four contests.
• Finley established a career high for rushing yards in a game. His previous high was 119 yards against Washington State last season.
• Pawelek established a career high for single-game tackles; his previous high was 15 tackles against Wake Forest last season. It was the 14th double-digit tackle performance of his career.
• Pawelek's 21 tackles move him to fifth place all-time in career tackles with 341, passing James Francis (334), Doak Field (330), Thomas Everett (325) and Gary Joe Kinne (323).
• Pawelek's 21 tackles are tied for the 10th-highest single-game total in Baylor history, tying Mike Singletary's total vs. Lamar on Sept. 8, 1979.
• Antonio Johnson established a career high for single-game tackles; his previous high was 12 tackles against Oklahoma last season. It was the third double-digit tackle performance of his career.
• Antonio Jones established a career high for single-game tackles; his previous high was nine tackles against Wake Forest last season. It was the first double-digit tackle performance of his career.
• Robert Griffin scored two rushing touchdowns in the game, increasing his career total to 15. His 15 career touchdowns tie him for ninth on the all-time rushing touchdown list with Gary Lacy, Steve Beaird and Dennis Gentry. It was the fourth multiple-rushing touchdown game of Griffin's career.
