Women's Tennis Fall Academic Honors

WACO, Texas - During the fall semester, Baylor's women's tennis team excelled in the classroom as well as on the court. As a team, the Lady Bears were named an All-Academic Team by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association, while also receiving numerous individual honors.

To be eligible for the ITA All-Academic Team award a squad must have a team grade point average of 3.20 (on a 4.00 scale). The Bears posted a 3.46 GPA for the spring semester, an all-time record for the program.

Individually, Taylor Ormond, an English major, was named to the ITA Scholar-Athlete list and the Baylor Dean's List, while earning one of five spots on the Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll.

Along with Ormond, Csilla Borsanyi, Karolina Filipiak, Carla Lindlar, and Nina Secerbegovic were also named to the Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll for the fall semester.

Baylor is set to begin the dual-match season at the end of the month with Brown, Harvard and Nevada coming to Waco, Texas, on Jan. 29-31. Baylor will take on Harvard on Jan. 29 at 3 p.m. at the Baylor Tennis Center.
