LOS ANGELES - Donning a Baylor uniform for the first time in her career, junior transfer Sona Novakova picked up two wins in the first two rounds of pre-qualifying at the Riviera/ITA Women's All-American Championships in Los Angeles, Calif.
"Sona did a great job today," assistant coach Alison Ojeda, "She has implemented what she has been working on in practice, and came out and played well today in her first matches in a Baylor uniform."
In her first match of the day, Novakova took a straight-set win over Georgia Tech Sasha Krupina. Novakova battled Krupina to a tie-break in the first, winning 7-6, then dominated the second set without dropping a game in a 6-0 win.
