PACIFIC PALISADES, Calif. - Baylor sophomore Nina Secerbegovic collected a win in her first match of the year in the Main Draw at the Riviera/ITA Women's All-American Championship in Pacific Palisades, Calif.
Secerbegovic, the No. 8 seed in the 64-player Main Draw, took a straight-set victory over Princeton's Hilary Bartlett in the opening round. After a 6-4 win in the first set, Secerbegovic continued to control the match in the second set with a 6-3 win over the 49th-ranked Bartlett.
"Nina played within herself today, and executed really well on the big points," head coach Joey Scrivano said. "This was a good match for her to get under her belt."
Secerbegovic will take on Arkansas' Anouk Tigu on Friday in the Round of 32 of the Main Draw at the Riviera Tennis Club.
