MG Finishes Tied for 7th at Seminole Intercollegiate

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Payne Gniewek carded a final-round 1-over 72 to finish tied for seventh, while the Baylor men's golf team also finished seventh Sunday at the Seminole Intercollegiate.
Host Florida State (13-over 865) claimed the Seminole Intercollegiate by one shot, slipping past South Carolina (14-over 866) after the Seminoles' top-ranked golfer Brooks Koepka was disqualified for signing an incorrect scorecard. The error negated what would have been a nine-shot victory for the Seminoles.
Arkansas and North Texas finished tied for third at 21-over 873, followed by Vanderbilt in fifth at 23-over. Baylor finished tied for seventh with North Carolina at 35-over 887.
South Carolina's Paul Woodbury claimed individual medalist honors after besting Florida's Seath Lauer on the fourth playoff hole. Both finished the tournament at 1-under 212.
Gniewek's final score of 2-over was his lowest since firing a 6-under 210 at the Lone Star Invitational last October. For Gniewek (72-71-72=215), it was his second top-10 finish of the season. Lorenzo Scotto, who was tied for second after Friday's first round, finished tied for 28th at 9-over (69-79-74=222).
Joakim Mikkelsen ended the tournament in 38th at 12-over 225, while both Ryan O'Rear and Austin Berkovsky finished tied for 61st at 21-over.
Baylor returns to action March 17-18 at the National Invitational Tournament in Tucson, Ariz.
