Canion To Miss Remainder Of 2010 Season

WACO - Baylor sophomore pitcher Whitney Canion will miss the rest of the 2010 season due to an increasing stress reaction in her left forearm.

"This is obviously a huge blow for us," head coach Glenn Moore said. "I feel bad for Whitney because she has worked very hard all summer and fall to get back on the field. Sports, not unlike life, will put great challenges in front of you, however, winners will still compete in spite of the challenges and this is a team of winners."

Canion, the 2009 Big 12 Freshman and Pitcher of the Year, was 5-3 with a 1.58 ERA and 79 strikeouts in 48.2 innings this season.
