ENNIS, Texas - Baylor's No. 1- ranked women's tennis team (13-2, 4-0 Big 12) ran its Big 12 regular-season win streak to 35 matches with a 6-1 win over No. 34 Oklahoma (10-2, 1-1 Big 12) on a cold Sunday, which forced the match to be moved to the Lion Tennis Center in Ennis, Texas.

The Lady Bears took the doubles point, then got four dominating victories as well as a gritty effort from senior Lenka Broosova in a three-set thriller. Broosova and partner Csilla Borsanyi, ranked eighth in doubles, cruised to an 8-5 victory. Coupled with Taylor Ormond and Karolina Filipiak's 8-4 win, Baylor grabbed a 1-0 lead.

On the singles courts, it was a race to the finish on courts two and three between Ormond and Nina Secerbegovic, as each dropped just two total games. The 65th-ranked Ormond finished first with a 6-1, 6-1 drubbing of Marie-Pier Huet, while the 18th-ranked Secerbegovic followed a 6-2 first set with a 6-0 second set.

After Oklahoma recorded their first point of the day at the No. 4 position, Filipiak and Carla Lindlar put the match away with victories. Filipiak beat Tara Eckel 6-4, 6-0 at No. 5, and Lindlar beat Kristina Radan 6-1, 6-4 at No. 6.

Meanwhile, the fifth-ranked Broosova was in a tight battle with No. 90 Ana-Maria Constantinescu on Court No. 1. In the first set, Broosova jumped out to a 5-2 lead, but couldn't close out that first set as Constantinescu ripped off five consecutive games to take a 7-5 set win. In the second set, Broosova again grabbed a 5-2 lead, but forced a third set with a 6-2 win.

With the match still not clinched for the Lady Bears, Broosova and Constantinescu played a standard third set, as opposed to the super tie-breaker. For the third straight set, Broosova took a 5-2 lead with solid baseline play. Constantinescu took the next two games, but Broosova buckled down to take the set 6-4.

Baylor will be back in action at the Baylor Tennis Center against No. 29 SMU on Wednesday, March 24. The first serve is scheduled for 5 p.m.
