Saturday is Military Appreciation Day, as tickets are $3 for members of the military and their families with valid ID. In addition, the first 300 fans will receive a free Baylor floppy hat.
Sunday is Senior Day, as the Lady Bears will honor its five seniors following the game.
SCOUTING IOWA STATE
The Cyclones defeated Nebraska, 6-3, Tuesday afternoon to sweep the season series from NU. ISU is in ninth place, and is led by Heidi Kidwell's .344 average, while Rachel Zabriskie is 20-13 with a 2.48 ERA and 230 strikeouts.
SERIES
Baylor leads the all-time series 15-10, including eight of its last nine games. The last time the two teams played in Waco, they split with BU winning the first game , 5-0 and falling 2-1 in game two.
RPI UPDATE
Heading in to the week, Baylor sat at No. 64 in the NCAA RPI rankings, while upcoming opponent Iowa State is 53rd. The Lady Bears still have one game against Texas A&M (No. 19), a pair at Missouri (No. 13), one versus Texas (No. 6) and two against Houston (No. 65).
NIETEN CLIMBING UP THE €ˆCHARTS
Courtney Nieten, who has 27 RBI this season, is now in third place on the all-time RBI €ˆlist with 110. She trails Brette Reagan by 46 and Chelsi Lake by 74.
WALKER WARMING €ˆUP
Sophomore Kayce Walker has found her swagger in conference play, batting .400 (14-for-35) with a double and six stolen bases.
WESLEY'S €ˆMIRRORING EACH OTHER
Not only are twin sisters Tiffany and Nicole Wesley identical in physical appearance, but they are mirroring each other on the softball field. They rank first and second on the team in batting average and are a combined 36-for-37 in stolen bases.
The duo are both climbing up the stolen base charts, as Tiffany is third all time with 86, while Nicole is fourth with 70. In addition, Tiffany is eighth on the all-time hits list at Baylor with 206.
THIEVES
Baylor ranks first in the country with 111 bases this season, and also rank first in the country with a 2.58 stolen bases per game average.
TWO OUTS? NO €ˆPROBLEM
The Lady Bears have had a knack for scoring with two outs this season. Of the 186 RBI so far, 71 (38 percent) of them have come with two outs.
