The Baylor softball team (21-11) will take a break from conference play for a mid-week doubleheader against North Texas (15-12), Wednesday, beginning at 4:00 p.m. at Getterman Stadium.

"I am glad we are getting back on the field to get Monday's game out of our system," head coach Glenn Moore said. "It will give us an opportunity to regroup and try a few new things."

Baylor leads the all-time series, 19-4, including an 11-1 mark in Waco. The two teams split a doubleheader in Denton last season.

The Lady Bears are coming off a week that saw them compile a 2-1 record, including a 3-2, 10 inning win over No. 18 Texas A&M. Courtney Repka recorded a career-high 11 strikeouts against A&M and allowed just three hits in the complete-game effort. She threw three complete games last week, two that went to extra innings. She went 2-1 with a 0.54 ERA, striking out 21 in 26.0 innings of work, allowing only 13 hits and two earned runs, including her third complete-game shutout of the season.

Kayce Walker returned to form, batting .455 (5-for-11) with three stolen bases over the past three games.

North Texas enters the mid-week showdown following a series win at Florida International. The Mean Green are led by Lisa Johnson's seven home runs and .380 batting average, while Ashley Lail is 8-4 with a 2.17 ERA in the circle.

Wednesday is $1 Hot Dog Day, while supplies last.
