With summer underway, baylorbears.com caught up with head coach Marci Jobson in the first segment of Five Questions.

1. So what is the summer like for you and the staff as you prepare for the 2010 season?

"It's been great. We have been out on the recruiting trail quite a bit, so that has kept us pretty busy. In addition, we have been watching tons of video from last season and looking at tactics that would include incoming players and getting ready for season."

2. What are the players doing this summer to get ready for the season?

"A core of our current players are playing on WPSL teams in Dallas (Lindsey Johnson), Philadelphia (Carlie Davis and Andrea Mauk) and Houston (Natalie Woodham and Bethany Johnston). Another core will be coming in for the second session of summer school and train here on campus. We also have four incoming players on club teams trying to qualify for nationals, so everyone is very busy."

3. Any big projects going on in Baylor soccer this summer?

Our Advanced Academy from July 18-22 as well as all of our camps are really exciting. It always leads right up to the start of the season, and it's also a good opportunity to see players from around the country.

4. When the players left for the summer, what was the one main message that you sent with them?

"Come back prepared, in shape and healthy. Preparation is everything, so make sure you come back in shape so we can go straight to soccer and tactics."

5. What excites you most about the future of Baylor soccer?

"The fact that we continue to build and grow. The girls see what they want and they are going after it. They got a taste of the Big 12 Tournament last season and it made them even hungrier."
