The Baylor soccer team (5-1-1) will play its second road game of the season, traveling to Sam Houston State (2-5-1) on Friday at 7:00 p.m. The Bears will then return home to take on Prairie View A&M (1-6-1) on Sunday at 1:00 p.m. at Betty Lou Mays Field.

"This is our final weekend before conference starts, so it's important," head coach Marci Jobson said. "We need to continue to get better and really get into a good rhythm."

The Bears are coming off a 0-0 tie against New Mexico on Sept. 10. Sophomores Hanna Gilmore and Lisa Sliwinski are tied for second in the Big 12 Conference in goals (five) and tied for third with 12 points. As a team, the Bears have outscored their opponents 20-3 on the season.

Sam Houston enters this weekend's action with a 2-5-1 record, but four of the five losses were by only one goal. The Bearkats defeated North Texas 1-0 in overtime two weeks ago in their only home match at Pritchett Field thus far. Friday's game will mark the first ever meeting between the two teams.

Prairie View A&M enters the weekend after a pair of losses to Central Arkansas and Northwestern State last weekend. The Panthers will face Texas State in San Marcos on Friday.

On Sunday, all kids 12 and under will get in free.
