STILLWATER, Okla. - Despite dominating for 87 minutes, No. 12 Oklahoma State's (8-1-1, 1-0 Big 12) Kyndall Treadwell scored the game-winning goal in the 88th minute to defeat Baylor (7-2-1, 0-1 Big 12) 2-1 Friday evening at Cowgirl Soccer Complex. The loss broke the Bears' five-game unbeaten streak.
"Our young team played with tremendous heart and focus," head coach Marci Jobson said. "They proved they could play on both sides of the ball, and we were outstanding defensively all night. Now we have to regroup and focus on Oklahoma."
Baylor outshot the Cowgirls, 13-9 on the night, including 6-2 in the first half. Dana Larsen, Hanna Gilmore and Lotto Smith led the way with three shots apiece.
OSU struck first in the 49th minute, as a scramble in the box found Kristen Kelley's feet and she stuck it in from six yards out.
Baylor finally found the back of the net in the 52nd minute, as Dana Larsen put away her fifth goal of the season to tie the game at one.
With the game still tied, Treadwell launched a shot from 20 yards out that found the back of the net with just over two minutes to play to give OSU the lead, and the win.
The Bears have outshot nine of their first 10 opponents on the season. Baylor's only two losses this season have come on the road.
Baylor will be back in action on Sunday, traveling to Oklahoma (4-4-1, 0-1 Big 12) for a 5:00 p.m. game in Norman.
