TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - Baylor's Karolina Filipiak and Cristina Danaila each split their two singles matches on the final day of action at the Roberta Alison Fall Classic, hosted by the University of Alabama on Saturday in Tuscaloosa, Ala.

Danaila, a freshman, won her first match of the day in three sets over Kentucky's Jessica Stiles to reach the final in the Venus Williams draw. The top-seeded Daniala dropped the first set 2-6 to the fourth-seeded Stiles, but dominated the next two sets, dropping just two games, 6-2, 6-0. In her final match of the tournament, Danaila fell in straight sets, 6-3, 6-2, to Tulane's Emma Levy.

Filipiak also went 1-1 on the day, dropping her first match 6-2, 6-1 to Samford's Taylor Morgan, before bouncing back to beat UT-Martin's Anna Winkelmann in three sets. Winkelmann won the first 6-3, but Filipiak won the second 6-2, then took the super-tiebreaker 10-3.

Baylor freshman Aya Bara also competed on the day, forcing a third-set against Madelie Janse Van Rensburg of Samford. Van Rensburg took the super-tiebreaker 10-8 in a close match with each winning a set by the same 6-4 score.

In doubles, Filipiak and Danaila teamed up for a win over Taylor Morgan and Lindsey Mallory of Samford. The Baylor duo dominated the match on their way to an 8-1 win.

Baylor's women's tennis team will be back in action at the ITA/Riviera All-American from Oct. 2-10 in Pacific Palisades, Calif. The tournament will start with the pre-qualifying and qualifying draws, before continuing with the main draw.
