LA QUINTA, Calif. - Baylor women's tennis junior
Diana Nakic wasn't able to complete her title run at the National Collegiate Tennis Classic on Sunday in La Quinta, Calif.
Facing fifth-ranked Hilary Barte of Stanford, Nakic was unable to get on track against the Cardinal senior, who hadn't lost a set all tournament. Barte controlled play in the first set with a 6-2 win before finishing off the match with a 6-0 second set.
In doubles consolation action, Nakic teamed with Aya Bara for a victory. The Baylor pair took on Texas' Elizabeth Begley and Julia Wiegand and managed an 8-1 victory.
Next up for Baylor is the squad's first dual match of the season. The Lady Bears will take on Houston on Friday, Jan. 21 at 3:30 p.m. at the Baylor Tennis Center.
