Softball Hosts Final Fall Games

The Baylor softball team will host its final fall games of the season, taking on McLennan Community College on Wednesday for a doubleheader beginning at 4:00 p.m. at Getterman Stadium. Admission is free and open to the public.
The Lady Bears are 4-1-1 during fall play with a doubleheader sweep of Northwestern State that started the season. BU then took part in a tournament at Spring Klein, opening with a 23-1 win over Alvin CC before falling 3-2 to Texas State. Baylor wrapped up the tournament the following day with a 2-2 tie to St. Edwards and a 4-0 win over Houston that featured 16 strikeouts from Whitney Canion.
Canion and the rest of Team USA have gathered in preparation for the 2011 Pan Am Games, and will play three exhibition games in Texas. The Red, White and Blue take on Texas A&M Monday night in College Station with a doubleheader starting at 5:00 p.m. and wrap up with a 7:00 p.m. game at Houston.
