Quick Notes

  • Baylor is unbeaten in its last eight matches, going 7-0-1 during that span. Its last loss came on Sept. 16 at then-No. 21 Texas A&M.
  • The Bears are 0-6-0 all time against top-five teams. It last faced a top-five
    opponent in a 4-0 loss at No. 2 Texas A&M on Nov. 2, 2007.
  • Oklahoma State is unbeaten in its 16 games this season and are coming off a 1-1 tie against Texas. OSU has outscored its opponents 39-5 with 11 shutouts.

2011 Among Program's Best
Baylor's record of 13-2-2 is the best through 17 games since 1996 when the team was 14-2-1. The Bears have also qualified for the Big 12 Championship for the first time since 2009 and second time in the last five years.

Conference Awards Arrive
For the second consecutive week, the Baylor soccer team earned a weekly conference award as Dana Larsen was named Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week the Big 12 Conference office announced Tuesday. The award was the second in-a-row for the Bears after Lisa Sliwinski won the same honor a week ago.

Larsen Leads
Larsen leads the team in goals (9) and points (19), becoming the first player to reach nine goals since Megan Sherrell in 2007. She is fourth in the Big 12 in goals.

Second Half Goals
Baylor has been a second half team this season, scoring 25 of its 36 goals after halftime. Twenty-four have come in the second half while one has come in overtime.

Use Your Head
Twelve of the Bears' 36 goals have come via header, with freshman Alexa Wilde leading the way with three.

Set Pieces
The Bears have also scored 12 goals off set pieces, eight off corners and four off free kicks.

Scoring Spread Out
New players seem to step up each game, as 12 different players have recorded a goal. In addition, 18 players have recorded at least a point for BU.

Seelhorst Leads League
Fifth-year senior, Courtney Seelhorst leads the Big 12 with nine solo shutouts this season and is second in program history with 17 in her career.

Jobson Turns Defense Around
Since head coach Marci Jobson took over as head coach in 2008, the Bears have had their best defensive seasons in program history. After setting the school record for fewest goals allowed in 2008 (23), Baylor reset it in 2009 (18) and again in 2010 (16). BU has allowed just nine in 16 games so far in 2011.
