FORT WORTH, Texas - Baylor senior Diana Nakic and sophomore Jordaan Sanford had a successful day at the ITA Texas Regional, advancing in both singles and doubles, on Saturday in Fort Worth, Texas.

In the round of 16, Nakic and Sanford each took down seeded opponents from the University of Texas to advance to Sunday's quarterfinal round in both singles and doubles.

"It was a good day at the office," Scrivano said. "Overall, we are continuing to move in the right direction. Jordaan (Sanford) did some really good things today, playing more aggressively. Diana (Nakic) is playing really well, and she really got pushed to the limit. Noel Scott from Texas had a really good day, it was a great match. We are proud of the way Diana competed to get the win."

Sanford, seeded fifth overall, cruised through her second straight-set victory of the day, beating the Longhorns' Cierra Gaytan-Leach 6-1, 6-2. Nakic, seeded fourth overall, had a little bit tougher time in her second match, going three sets to beat 11th-seeded Noel Scott of UT 6-2, 2-6, 6-4.

Sanford and Nakic also teamed up to advance to the Round of 16 in doubles. The pair, seeded third in the tournament, put together a solid victory over Maria Martinez Romero and Nikola Matovicova of UT-Arlington, 8-4.

In Round of 32 singles action earlier in the day, Nakic and Sanford both moved on easily, combining to lose just one of 25 games played. Sanford played perfect match by the scoreboard's standards with a 6-0, 6-0 win over UTSA's Stefanie Peana, while Nakic was almost perfect in a 6-1, 6-0 win over TCU's Millie Nichols.

The remaining players will continue action in quarterfinals of the singles and doubles draw at the ITA Texas Regional in Fort Worth on Sunday. The semifinals are slated for Monday, followed by the final rounds on Tuesday.
