ROLLING HILLS, Calif.- Baylor's Jordaan Sanford and Megan Horter continued play at the Jack Kramer Club Invitational on Saturday in Rolling Hills, Calif.
Sanford advanced to the semifinal with a win early in the day, but fell just short of the final. Horter continued play in the consolation, where she suffered a defeat.
"The semifinal loss was a tough one for Jordaan (Sanford)," head coach Joey Scrivano said. "The most important thing is that her game is moving in the right direction. I'm proud of the way she and Megan (Horter) went out there and competed today."
Sanford started the day with an impressive straight-set victory over Pepperdine's Arianna Colffer, but faced the top-seeded and 25th-ranked Anna Bartenstein of Miami in the semifinals. Against Bartenstein, she stayed closed, but the Hurricane was able to hold a break advantage in each set to win 6-4, 6-4.
Horter faced UCLA's Skylar Morton in consolation play, staying close in the first set, but eventually falling 6-4, 6-0 in the match.
The Lady Bears will wrap up play at the Jack Kramer Invitational on Sunday in Rolling Hills, Calif.
