NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Baylor quarterback Robert Griffin III has been named National Offensive Player of the Week by the Walter Camp Football Foundation after leading Baylor to a 45-38 win over No. 5 Oklahoma Saturday at Floyd Casey Stadium.

Griffin III, a junior from Copperas Cove, Texas, threw for 479 yards and racked up 551 yards of total offense, breaking his own school records in both categories. His 34-yard touchdown pass to Terrance Williams with eight seconds remaining gave Baylor its first win over a top-5 opponent since 1985.

It's the second time this season RG3 has earned the award - he was previously honored after leading Baylor to a season-opening 50-48 win over then-No. 14 TCU on Sept. 2.

RG3 completed 21 of 34 passes and threw four touchdowns without an interception. Baylor is 6-0 at home this season and Griffin III has thrown 21 touchdown passes without an interception in those games. He's thrown 205 passes at home since his last interception on Nov. 20, 2010.

RG3 also rushed 18 times for a team-high 72 yards. His 551 yards of total offense were 92 more than the previous school record, which he set in a win over Missouri on Nov. 5.

With the game tied at 38-38 and 51 seconds on the clock, RG3 drove the Bears 80 yards in five plays over 43 seconds. He completed both pass attempts for 46 yards and rushed twice for 30 yards. He was 5-of-7 for 107 passing yards and a touchdown in the fourth quarter, and he added 50 rushing yards in the final period.

Baylor returns to action against Texas Tech at 6 p.m. CST Saturday at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington. The game will be televised live nationally on FSN, as Baylor looks for its fifth Big 12 win for the first time and its first win over Texas Tech since 1995.
