FLUSHING, N.Y.- Baylor women's tennis senior Diana Nakic fell in the Round of 16 at the USTA/ITA National Intercollegiate Indoor Championship on Friday at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing, N.Y.

Playing against one of the hottest players in the tournament, Nakic was unable to break through against North Carolina's Lauren McHale. The Tar Heel scored a 6-4, 6-4 win over Nakic with a late break-point in each match.

"Diana's opponent played really well today," assistant coach Alison Ojeda said. "Diana is working on a few parts of her game that will continue to help her as the year goes on. We are really proud of her commitment and development this fall and are looking forward to seeing where her game can go from here."

The loss moves Nakic's fall tournament record to 14-4 on the season, including the ITA Texas Regional title which allowed her entry into the USTA/ITA NIIC.

Next, select Baylor players will take part in the MetLife Lakewood Ranch Clay Court Championship in Sarasota, Fla., on Nov. 11-13.
