Baylor football will open spring drills Monday, Feb. 28, at its on-campus practice fields at the Highers Complex on University Parks Drive.
The Bears are scheduled to conclude their 15-practice spring workouts Saturday, April 2, with a controlled scrimmage presented by Time Warner Cable. The scrimmage and all spring workouts will take place at the Highers Complex fields located behind the Simpson Center.
Baylor spring practice dates are scheduled for Feb. 28, March 1, 3, 15, 17, 18, 19, 22, 24, 25, 26, 29, 31 and April 2. Fan inquiries about attending workouts may be directed to the football office at 254-710-3058.
In his fourth season in 2011, head coach Art Briles returns 51 lettermen from his 2010 Baylor squad and welcomes four scholarship newcomers during spring drills (mid-year enrollees Jay Johnson of Lago Vista High School, Nick Johnson from Navarro College, Trevor Clemons-Valdez of Copperas Cove High School and Josh Wilson of Kilgore College).
The 2011 Bears roster includes 14 returning starters (eight offensive, five defensive and one specialist) from last year's team that finished 7-6 and played in the Texas Bowl.
