The Baylor softball team (14-1) will look to bounce back from its first loss of the season as it faces Prairie View A&M (3-7) in a doubleheader on Tuesday beginning at 2:00 p.m. at Getterman Stadium.
"It's good for us to get right back out on the field," head coach Glenn Moore said. "This will be good for us to get other kids some playing time and get back on a positive track before heading on a 10-day roadtrip."
The Lady Bears enter the Tuesday tilt after going 3-1 at the QTI Powers Invitational, defeating Sam Houston State, Central Arkansas and Louisiana Monroe before falling to No. 23 Houston in the final game. Dani Leal leads the offense with a .415 average to go with five home runs and 11 RBI, while Holly Holl enters with a five-game hitting streak. The pitching staff has been stellar, compiling a conference-leading 0.75 ERA. Whitney Canion leads the Big 12 with a 0.46 ERA and is fourth with 76 strikeouts.
Baylor leads the series with Prairie View A&M, 4-0 and has outscored the Panthers 49-0 in those games.
Prairie View A&M enters the pair of games after snapping a three-game losing streak with an 8-4 win over Huston-Tillotson
