Game One
Baylor 6, Prairie View A&M 1

Chelsea Kovich recorded three hits to go with two runs and an RBI to lead Baylor to the 6-1 win. Courtney Repka (6-0) went 7.0 innings, allowing six hits, one run, one walk and nine strikeouts.

The Lady Bears scored a pair in the first, as Kovich hit a one-out single up the middle and reached third after a fielder's choice and throwing error from the pitcher after a grounder from Dani Leal. A wild pitch allowed Kovich to score and Holl ripped an RBI-single through the left side for a 2-0 lead.

Baylor added another in the second with an RBI-bunt from Kovich that scored Meagan Weldon from third for a three-run lead.

Artavi Woods got the Panthers on the board in the third with a leadoff triple and coming in on an RBI from Leann Flores. The run was the first ever scored by Prairie View A&M against Baylor.

Holl led off the third being hit by a pitch and came around to score on a double from Whitney Canion. A sac fly from Weldon later in the inning scored Canion from third for a 5-1 lead.

Kovich struck again for Baylor's final run when she led off with a double and after stealing third, scored on a wild pitch for the game's final run.

Game Two
Baylor 8, Prairie View A&M 0 (5)

Baylor scored six runs in the final two innings to run-rule the Panthers, 8-0 in five innings. Liz Paul (4-0) threw 4.0 innings of shutout ball, allwoing three hits and striking out six.

Shelbi Redfearn battled a 12-pitch at bat, fouling off six-straight pitches before an RBI-single scored Kayce Walker for a 1-0 lead after one.

Paul helped her own cause with an RBI-single to left center in the second, scoring Freeland, who reached on a bunt single.

The Lady Bears' speed was on display in the fourth, scoring three runs. Kelsi Kettler and KJ Freeland had back-to-back bunt singles, but advanced a base when the Panthers' defense wasn't looking, putting runners at second and third. Sydney Wilson hit into a fielder's choice that allowed Kettler to score, and Freeland came across right behind her for another run. Jordan Vannatta added the third run on a sac fly for a 5-0 lead.

The bats warmed up in the fifth, as Walker led off with a bunt-single and came in to score on a double from Holl. Canion came in to pinch hit and scored Holl from second before a Wilson triple off the center-field wall brought in Kathy Shelton to end the game at 8-0.

Baylor will head out on an eight-day, 10-game road trip beginning with No. 6/9 UCLA on Friday, March 4 at 10:15 p.m. CT at the Campbell/Cartier Classic in San Diego, Calif.
