WACO, Texas - Baylor football's spring scrimmage will be televised live in Central Texas on MYTX-TV Saturday, April 2 at 1 p.m. CDT. The controlled scrimmage, presented by Time Warner Cable, will be held on campus at the Highers Complex fields and marks the conclusion of the program's four-week spring drills.
MYTX-TV is an independent channel affiliated with London Broadcasting that airs locally on Time Warner Cable and Grande Cable on channel 132 and over the air on channel 6.2.
Admission to the spring scrimmage is free and 2011 Baylor football schedule posters will be given to all in attendance. A shuttle service will run between the Ferrell Center parking lots and the Highers Complex beginning at 10:30 a.m. Additionally, fans with football scrimmage rosters get free admission to Baylor's softball game vs. Missouri at 3 p.m. at Getterman Stadium.
In his fourth season in 2011, head coach Art Briles returns 52 lettermen from his 2010 Baylor squad and welcomed four scholarship newcomers during spring drills (mid-year enrollees Jay Johnson of Lago Vista High School, Nick Johnson from Navarro College, Trevor Clemons-Valdez of Copperas Cove High School and Josh Wilson of Kilgore College).
The 2011 Bears roster includes 14 returning starters (eight offensive, five defensive and one specialist) from last year's team that finished 7-6 and played in the Texas Bowl.
