SAN DIEGO, Calif. - Baylor (19-2) swept day three of the Campbell/Cartier Classic, knocking off No. 23 Fresno State (8-4) 4-1 in game one, before blasting Cal Poly (2-17), 10-2 in five innings. Megan Turk led the way, going 6-for-8 with three RBI and two runs scored.

Game One
Baylor 4, No. 23 Fresno State 1

Whitney Canion (8-1) went 7.0 innings, allowing six hits, one run, walking two and striking out eight. Megan Turk led the Lady Bears' offense, going 3-for-4 with a double, run scored and RBI.

The Lady Bears struck in the first, as Turk laced a one-out single to left and advanced to second on a walk from Dani Leal. Canion then followed with an RBI-single up the middle for a 1-0 lead.

Fresno State tied it in the bottom of the inning off a Courtney Moore sac fly, scoring Gilleland, making it 1-1.

Baylor reclaimed the lead in the fifth, when Kathy Shelton led off the inning with a single through the right side and was sacrificed to second by Kayce Walker. Turk stepped in and laced a double to right center that scored Shelton, giving BU the 2-1 lead.

BU upped its advantage in the sixth with a two-run homer from Clare Hosack, her second of the season, over the left field wall. Holly Holl led off the inning by getting on when the center fielder dropped a fly ball in shallow center.

Canion shut the door on the Bulldogs in the seventh, ending any threat.

Game Two
Baylor 10, Cal Poly 2 (5)

Baylor jumped out to a 6-1 lead and never looked back, dispatching Cal Poly, 10-2 in five innings. Liz Paul (5-0) picked up the win, allowing two earned runs, five hits and striking out four in 5.0 innings. Turk again went 3-for-4, this time with a pair of RBI and a run scored.

Cal Poly took the first lead, as Anna Cahn hit a solo home run to right in the top of the second, making it 1-0.

The Lady Bears answered with four in the second, all with two outs. Holly Holl led off with a walk and advanced to third when KJ Freeland reached on an error at first. That led to a Kathy Shelton infield single to short that tied the game. Shelton stole second and came in to score with Freeland when Walker reached on a throwing error by the pitcher, making it 3-1. Turk then singled to right center to bring Walker around for the three-run lead.

A two-run single from Freeland in the third led to a 6-1 lead, as Jordan Vannatta and Kelsi Kettler came around to score.

Another Cahn solo homer to ight cut the lead to four in the fourth, but Baylor had another answer.

Turk and Dani Leal hit back-to-back singles up the middle that allowed Vannatta to belt a three-run shot around the left field foul pole for a 9-2 advantage.

The Lady Bears finished off the Mustangs in the fifth, as Shelton reached on a two-out triple and came in to score on a single up the middle from Turk, ending the game at 10-2.

Baylor will finish up the final day of the Campbell/Cartier Classic on Monday, taking on host, San Diego State at 8:00 p.m. CT.
