THE RUNDOWN

  1. The Baylor women enter the weekend as the No. 5 overall seed in their seventh consecutive and 14th overall NCAA €ˆTournament appearance. Chosen as a host, Baylor will play the opening rounds at home for the sixth straight year and seventh overall.
  2. Baylor holds a 20-12 all-time record in the NCAA Team Championships, including a perfect 12-0 mark at the Baylor Tennis Center. After losing their opening round match in their first four appearances, BU €ˆis 8-1 in the first round since.
  3. With last weekend's Big 12 tournament title, Baylor has won the Big 12 regular season title seven years in a row and the Big 12 tournament title six consecutive times. The current senior class has won both in each of their four seasons.
  4. Baylor is currently ranked No. 7 after reaching as high as No. 3 early in the season. BU has four ranked singles players, including No. 14 Sona Novakova, No. 47 Diana Nakic, No. 49 Nina Secerbegovic and No. 112 Jelena Stanivuk.
  5. BU also comes into the weekend playing its best tennis of the season, riding a 15-match win streak. The stretch includes 12 wins against conference opponents and 10 wins against ranked opponents no lower than No. 41.
  6. Individually, Baylor's Diana Nakic and Jelena Stanivuk have been the hottest players of late. Nakic comes in with a 17-match win streak, having lost only one set during the run. Stanivuk has won 11 in a row and 23 of her 25 matches.
  7. Earlier this season, the Lady Bears had one of the longest conference win streaks in NCAA history snapped in a loss to Kansas State. Entering the match, BU had won 57 in a row over Big 12 teams, including 43 in a row in the regular season.
  8. The Lady Bears claimed three Big 12 Player of the Week honors this season. Nina Secerbegovic was honored twice, winning the award on March 22 and April 12. Sona Novakova is the most recent winner, claiming the honor on April 26.
  9. Four Baylor student-athletes were named to the Big 12 €ˆAll-Academic First Team, including three-time honorees Taylor Ormond, Karolina Filipiak and Jelena Stanivuk. Nina Secerbegovic was honored for the second time.
  10. Head coach Joey Scrivano signed four players to National Letters of Intent. They include Megan Horter, Nicole Kosakowski, Rachael Reed and Ema Burgic.
