WACO - Shelbi Redfearn's bases-loaded sac fly gave No. 19 Baylor (39-12, 10-7) a 1-0 win over No. 20 Nebraska (35-12, 5-9) on Senior Day, Sunday afternoon at Getterman Stadium. The second walk-off win in as many days, the victory was the fourth home win on the final at-bat for the Lady Bears in Big 12 play.

"What a team of fighters we have," head coach Glenn Moore said. "They wanted to win this game so badly for the seniors and they just kept pressing until they got the job done."

Whitney Canion (23-9) recorded her first, seven-inning, complete-game shutout since a 6-0 win at Arizona on March 11. On the day, she allowed just two hits, walking two and striking out seven for her fourth shutout of the year.

The two teams combined for just five hits on the afternoon, as Kathy Shelton, Megan Turk and Whitney Canion each registered one of Baylor's three hits.

With game tied at 0-0 in the bottom of the seventh, Turk led off the inning with her seventh double of the year, a liner down the left field line that one-hopped the wall passed a diving left fielder. KJ Freeland was intentionally walked, but Clare Hosack popped up a sac bunt attempt for the first out of the inning, leaving runners at first and second. Canion then drew a walk to load the bases and set the stage for Redfearn. She battled a 3-2 count and a 16-pitch at-bat until she drove the ball to right center, allowing Turk to slide home safely from third for the win.

The Lady Bears threatened in the first when Leal picked up a two-out walk and stole second to get into scoring position, but Holly Holl popped up to second to end the threat.

Baylor nearly broke the scoreless tie in the sixth when Holl hit a dribbler to first that was bobbled by the first baseman, allowing Walker to round third and head for home, but the throw from the first baseman was in time to tag Walker out at the plate.

Canion was forced to work out of a jam in the seventh, issuing a leadoff walk to Julie Brechtel, who was thrown out at second on an attempted sac bunt. A single off the glove of Canion put runners at first and second, and a groundout to Canion had runners on second and third with two outs. With a 3-2 count and having thrown 11 pitches in the at-bat, Canion got Heidi Foland to strike out swinging to keep the game tied at 0-0.

The shutout was the 11th of the season for Baylor, who will wrap up regular-season play at No. 4 Texas (45-7, 14-3) on Sunday, May 15 at Noon. The NCAA Selection Show will be held that night at 9:00 p.m. CT on ESPNU. Details on a watch party will be released later this week.
