Complete Big 12 Football Preseason Poll Release
IRVING, Texas - Baylor was picked to finish sixth in the 2011 Big 12 Football Preseason Poll, voted on by media representatives who cover the Conference. The 2011 season marks the Big 12's first without two six-team divisions.
Baylor received 194 points, three ahead of seventh-place Texas Tech, which received 191 points. Oklahoma was chosen to repeat as Big 12 champion, receiving 41 of 43 possible first-place votes and totaled 428 points. Texas A&M finished second with one first-place vote and 362 points, followed by Oklahoma State in third, garnering the other first-place vote and 360 points. Missouri (281 points) and Texas (265 points) rounded out the top five of the preseason poll.
Head coaches and selected student-athletes will converge in Dallas from July 25-26 for the annual Big 12 Football Media Days. Baylor is one of five teams that will be featured Monday, July 25, and BaylorBears.com will provide complete coverage during the day. Head coach Art Briles, junior QB Robert Griffin III, senior IR Kendall Wright and senior LB Elliot Coffey will represent the Green and Gold in Dallas.
