Canion Picks Up Win For USA

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. - Witney Canion guided Team USA to a 7-2 win over the Czech Republic on Thursday night in the team's opening game of World Cup VI in Oklahoma City.
Canion picked up the win, allowing two earned runs in 5.0 innings pitch. Canion was perfect through three innings before allowing the Czech Republic to score both runs in the fourth. She held them to just three hits and struck out five.
Canion and the rest of the Red, White and Blue will return to World Cup action on Friday evening with a match up against Australia at 7:00 p.m. CT. The game will be aired live on ESPN and webcast at www.espn3.com.
