WACO, Texas - Baylor Athletics, in conjunction with CBS Interactive, has launched BU-RG3.com, an informative and interactive site to promote Baylor's Heisman Trophy candidate, Robert Griffin III.
"The purpose of this site is to provide information on RG3's achievements, both on the field as well as in the classroom and community," Baylor Assistant AD for Communications Heath Nielsen said. "Fans, media and award-voters will have access to updated stats, information and video content."
Referred by some as the fastest quarterback in college football history, Griffin III owns or shares 30 school records and is the Baylor career leader in 14 categories. RG3, who threw for 3,501 yards and led Baylor to a 2010 Texas Bowl appearance, is one of five returning FBS quarterbacks with 5,500 career passing and 1,500 career rushing yards.
A preseason third-team All-American by Athlon, Griffin III is on the preseason watch list for four different major college football awards - the Maxwell, Walter Camp, Davey O'Brien and Manning Awards. The Copperas Cove, Texas, native graduated from Baylor in December 2010 and is currently enrolled in graduate school. He is a 2011 Allstate AFCA Good Works Team nominee.
