WACO, Texas - Baylor's Big 12 Conference opener at Kansas State on Oct. 1 will be played at 2:30 p.m. CT and will be televised live nationally on ABC, the conference announced Monday.
No. 17/19 Baylor (2-0) is ranked in both the latest AP and USA TODAY Coaches Top 25 polls for the second straight week. It will be the Bears' fifth straight Big 12 game played on national television, dating back to last season, and its third televised game this season (one on ESPN, one on FOX Sports Southwest).
Kansas State (2-0) has started 2-0 for the second straight season, following a 37-0 home win Sept. 17 vs. Kent State. K-State travels to Miami, Fla., to face the University of Miami on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. on ESPNU.
Last season's series meeting in Waco featured 89 combined points as Baylor became bowl eligible for the first time in 15 years with a 47-42 Homecoming win. Jay Finley ran for a school-record 250 yards, surpassing the previous record set by QB Robert Griffin III.
Baylor, which owns its highest AP ranking since the week of Oct. 14, 1991, hosts old Southwest Conference rival Rice on Saturday for Parents' Weekend. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m. CT on FOX Sports Southwest.
