WACO, Texas- Baylor's fifth-ranked women's tennis team will put its perfect 8-0 record on the line against No. 47 TCU on Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. at the Hurd Tennis Center in Waco, Texas.

Future Big 12 foe TCU brings its own undefeated 3-0 record into the match, but will be facing its first ranked opponent of the season. In Baylor's eight wins to open 2012, the Lady Bears have defeated one ranked opponent in No. 73 Wyoming the last time out.

Baylor's win streak to open the season ties the second-best start in program history, trailing only the 12 straight wins to open 2000. Baylor has been dominant this season in Nos. 1-4 in singles, compiling a 31-1 mark at those positions.

The senior trio of No. 14 Diana Nakic, Nina Secerbegovic and Sona Novakova, and sophomore Jordaan Sanford have done most of the damage, compiling 26 of the 31 wins at the top four spots. Secerbegovic and Novakova are each 8-0 in dual-match singles play, while Nakic is 5-1 in dual matches and has a team-best 19 wins dating back to the fall.

Baylor also recently plugged Ema Burgic into the lineup after an injury-plagued fall season. Burgic, who ranks as the No. 4 freshman in the nation, followed an 8-2 doubles win with a near-flawless 6-0, 6-0 win in her first dual match as a Lady Bear.

In doubles, the Lady Bears have again been top heavy, compiling a 10-2 mark at No. 1 and No. 2. Secerbegovic has been a part of a 5-0 record at No. 1, getting three wins with Megan Horter and two wins with Sanford. Nakic and Novakova have been a force at No. 2, compiling a 5-0 record as doubles partners.

On the other side of the net, the Horned Frogs have been led by two ranked doubles tandems and a trio of undefeated singles players. In doubles, TCU features the No. 31 duo of Millie Nichols and Olivia Smith, who have a 2-0 mark this spring, and Federica Denti and Kelsey Sundaram, who are 2-1.

In singles, Denti, Nichols and Smith have all posted 3-0 records in dual matches. Smith has been at the top of the lineup in the No. 1 and No. 2 spots, Nichols has played both No. 3 and No. 4, and Denti has played her three matches at No. 4 and No. 5.
