WACO, Texas - After registering just the second 10-win season in Baylor's 110-year football history and a record-setting 67-56 victory over Washington in the 2011 Valero Alamo Bowl, Baylor Nation and Central Texans are invited to salute coach Art Briles' 2011 Bears at a season-ending pep rally, presented by Texas Farm Bureau Insurance, on Saturday, Jan. 14, at 7 p.m., in the Ferrell Center.

"This will be a wonderful opportunity for Baylor Nation and the Central Texas community to come together and celebrate the accomplishments of the 2011 Bears," said Ian McCaw, Baylor's Director of Athletics.

The event, which is free and open to the public, will include remarks from Coach Briles, Heisman Trophy winner Robert Griffin III, 2011 Valero Alamo Bowl Defensive MVP Elliot Coffey, and Central Texas Bears Jarred Salubi, Levi Norwood and Ahmad Dixon, as well as other special guests, and a video tribute to one of the finest football seasons in school history.

The Ferrell Center doors to this special celebration of Baylor's record-setting 2011 campaign open at 6 p.m., with the program scheduled to start at 7 p.m.

All fans attending the championship celebration will also receive a free commemorative 2011 Baylor football poster and following the program, will be allowed to take their picture with the Heisman Trophy and the Bears' Valero Alamo Bowl championship trophy on the arena floor. No autographs will be allowed at the event.

The Bears closed the 2011 campaign with six straight victories to record the program's first 10-win season since 1980, and are assured of being ranked in the season-ending Associated Press poll for just the 11th time in school history, and the first since 1986 when Baylor ended up at No. 12 in the final AP listing. The final 2011 AP and coaches polls will be released following the Jan. 9 BCS National Championship game.
