No. 5 Equestrian Falls 13-7 To No. 7 KSU

MANHATTAN, Kan. - The No. 5 Baylor Equestrian team (3-1) suffered their first loss of the season, falling 13-7 to No. 7 Kansas State (2-1) Friday afternoon at Timbercreek Stables in Manhattan, Kan.

The Hunter Seat team found its first loss of the season, dropping an 8-2 decision, while the Western squad earned a 5-5 tie.

Baylor's lone event win was a 3-2 victory in Horsemanship. Mary Brown (76.5), Ashley Garza (75.5) and Bryn Lindley(78.5) all earned points for the Bears.

K-State tied Western with a 3-2 win of its own in Reining. Katherine Berg's 74 earned MVP honors, with Shelbey Jackson's70 also earning a point for BU.

The Wildcats picked up a 4-1 victory in Fences, as Ashley Ann McGehee's 83 earned the lone point for the Bears.

The Bears only point in Flat came from Taylor Brown(79), falling 4-1.

The Bears will continue to compete on the road tomorrow morning beginning at 10 am against No. 6 Oklahoma State in Stillwater, Okla.
