WACO, Texas- Baylor's eighth-ranked women's tennis team was shut out by possibly the hottest team in the nation in No. 3 UCLA on Sunday at the Hurd Tennis Center.

Just four days after winning the ITA National Team Indoor title, the Bruins (10-0) brought a lineup full of ranked players and made quick work of Baylor (11-3) in a 4-0 shutout. The Lady Bears, who entered the match with back-to-back top-10 wins, couldn't get on track after dropping the doubles point for the fifth consecutive match.

"UCLA has a great team, they just outplayed us today," head coach Joey Scrivano said. "Our focus is just getting better every day. Nina (Secerbegovic) and Sona (Novakova) have been in a lot of big matches, and I like their chances, so those are two positions that we feel confident about against anybody in the country. But, we need to get better at every position and it's just a slow process getting there."

Baylor's Nina Secerbegovic and Megan Horter tried to get the Lady Bears on track during doubles, winning three straight games to win 8-5 over the 12th-ranked duo of Robin Anderson and Skylar Morton. The Bruins, however added to their 8-1 win on Court 3 with a point-clinching 8-4 win on Court 2.

In singles, UCLA took the opening set on four of six courts, with just Secerbegovic on Court 2 and Novakova on Court 3 earning a first-set win for Baylor. The Bruins followed up with second-set wins on Courts 1, 5 and 6 to clinch the match before No. 28 Secerbegovic and No. 43 Novakova could finish, leaving both courts suspended.

UCLA's singles lineup featured all six players owning top-125 rankings nationally, led by No. 6 Robin Anderson, who defeated Baylor's No. 17 Diana Nakic 6-2, 6-2 on Court 1. In a pair of freshman-freshman matchups that each ended 6-1, 6-2, the Bruins' No. 61 Kaitlin Ray defeated Megan Horter, and her teammate, No. 102 Chanelle Van Nguyen took down Nicole Kosakowski.

In the other remaining court that was suspended at the match-ending point, Baylor's Ema Burgic had battled back from a 6-3 first-set loss to No. 121 Skylar Morton to lead in the second set 3-0.

Baylor will have more than a week off before its next match, opening the Big 12 Conference slate against 34th-ranked Texas Tech on March 1 at 3 p.m. in Lubbock, Texas.
