The No. 15 Baylor softball team (21-6) will continue its 14-game homestand with a doubleheader against Stephen F. Austin (7-17) beginning at 3:00 pm on Tuesday.
"We are excited about getting back out on the field," head coach Glenn Moore said. "SFA is a tough team, so we need to be and will be ready."
Baylor enters the pair of games winners of five of its last six. Kathy Shelton continues to pace the BU offense with a .410 average, good for sixth in the Big 12. The junior also leads the Lady Bears in runs (24), hits (32), slugging (.513), on-base percentage (.500) and stolen bases (15).
Junior Courtney Repka (9-2, 0.86 ERA) and sophomore Liz Paul (6-3, 1.56 ERA) have been stellar in the circle, allowing just three runs in their last 48.2 innings. Repka is fourth in the Big 12 in ERA and tied for fourth in wins.
SFA enters the contest on a four-game losing streak after being no-hit in its last two contests against Texas State. The Ladyjacks are hitting .200 as a team to go with a 4.92 ERA.
The two teams will be meeting for the first time since Feb. 15, 2009, while the Lady Bears hold a 31-18 advantage all time and are winners of 10-straight in the series.
