IRVING, Texas -

The Baylor softball team had three players named to the All-Big 12 team, the conference office announced Tuesday. Holly Holl was named to the first team, while Kathy Shelton and Kayce Walker earned second-team honors.

Holl was named to the first-team for the first time in her career. The sophomore led the team in both overall (.344) and Big 12 (.377) batting average, finishing fifth in conference-only batting average. Holl also led the team in doubles with 13, placing in a tie for third in the Big 12.

Shelton earned All-Big 12 honors for the second-consecutive season after being named a unanimous first-team pick in 2011. The junior led the team with 28 stolen bases, leading the league and paced BU in hits (54), tying for 10th most in the Big 12. Shelton hit .333 on the year and was second on the team with seven doubles.

Walker was named All-Big 12 for the fourth time, becoming just the second player in Baylor history (Brette Reagan 2006-09) to have done so. The senior was fourth in overall (20) and Big 12 (8) stolen bases and sits fourth on the all-time BU list with 80. Walker's 43 hits on the year have her tied with Chelsi Lake for third on Baylor's all-time list with 227.

All-Big 12 and postseason honors are selected in a vote by the league's head coaches, who are not allowed to vote for their own players.
